About Taxido
TAXIDO is an initiative of Jerry Bongani Zwane together with the young people of KATHORUS, the geographical area covering the communities of Katlehong, Thokoza and Vosloorus Currently it consists of 26 Senior Members and 24 juniors, of which most of them are orphans and survivors of various abuses. Established 18 July 2003, with a desire to work in and with the community in shifting the mindset of young people from the trauma of violence and corruption, restore hope and dignity, build youth solidarity in the area, and develop enduring partnership with the community and hostel dwellers. The purpose and mandate of TAXIDO is to enhance and enriches the standard of the youth through the dynamic artistic development that appeals to the norms and values of today’s society. TAXIDO has developed a number of programs for the youth whose primary aim is to search, develop, nurture and Expose their talents
Executive Summary
TAXIDO was launched on the 18 July 2003; it is an organization that was formed to give hope to the young arts and culture hopefuls. It consists of 26 senior member and 24 juniors who are the previous victim and survivors of abuse and some are orphaned. Throughout its launch TAXIDO has had a positive impact on the community of Katlehong through their productions that always have positive messages and very educational.

PERFOMING ARTS
The term “Performing Arts” was originally used to describe any live artistic event that included poets, musicians, film makers, etc. performing arts was first used as a form of entertainment, educational and storytelling disciplines in a form of live acting, singing and poetry so the message was passed on. But it differed from one culture to another as each art form was used for different reasons. And since then, it has been used as a way of making a living.
TODAY IN MODERN ARTS
In modern times, dance is used as a form of expressing of one’s inner feelings. It is used as an art form that frees the soul. It is also used as a part of entertainment and educational discipline that is used to tell stories through movement. It has become so vastly used that the whole world relates to each and every dance form. In South Africa today, performing arts has grown to a vast art form with its different disciplines being used by most South Africans.
