Katlehong, South Africa – Get ready for an unforgettable experience as the ANNUAL KATHORUSARTS EXPO (AKAE) 2024 celebrates 30 years of democracy in style! This vibrant two-day event promises to delight audiences of all ages with a diverse range of activities, performances and art exhibition.

From August 9th to 10th, the Katlehong Art Centre will transform into a hub of creativity, show casing the best of South African arts and culture. The expo kicks off with an art exhibition aptly title “Waste to Art” and a hilarious Comedy-Show, featuring a line up of talented up and coming comedians with cash prize award for outstanding performers.

The excitement continues on day two with a colorful Puppet Show Street Parade, featuring giant puppets, ventriloquists, clowns, and a brass band. The parade will culminate in a vibrant Traditional Dance Festival, where outstanding dance groups will be rewarded with a cash prize award. According to Jerry Zwane, Expo Organizer, “Our goal is to promote arts and culture, foster creativity, and provide a platform for artists to showcase their talent. What better way to celebrate 30 years of democracy and Women’s Day than with this display of South Africa’s diverse cultures and talented artists?”
